Terry Kucera came to NASA/Goddard in 1993 after receiving her doctorate from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She joined the SOHO team as an operations scientist for the CDS and SUMER spectrometers in 1995 and became the US deputy project scientist in 2001. She is also deputy project scientist for the STEREO mission and is interested in educational outreach.
