Alex Young received a B.S. in Physics from Florida State Unviersity in 1991 and later received his masters at the University of New Hampshire in 1996 on cosmic gamma-ray bursts. He successfully defended a Ph.D in in solar flare gamma-ray physics at the University of New Hampshire and finished up the writing after moving here. He graduated in May.

He began working for SOHO through Emergent Information Technologies, Inc. in September of 2000 and is a support scientist for the instruments EIT and CDS. He is married with 3 cats.
