SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes for Tuesday 8 July 2003 ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * ESR-19 RECOVERY UPDATE With the recently acquired knowledge that we can get medium rate telemetry through the low gain antenna on 34 meter stations, the ESR recovery has proceeded somewhat quicker than usual. We also benefited from having a 34 meter station already, so acquiring the low rate signal could happen quickly. Also, CDS, UVCS and LASCO were already safed for today's planned maneuver, saving additional steps in the recovery. We were in CRP mode by 11:18 UT. The spacecraft emergency was lifted shortly thereafter. We have already done the Nominal Roll Attitude Recovery part of the standard ESR recovery scenario, starting at about +60 degrees away from nominal roll attitude. However, we naturally went to the planned, 180 degrees off-nominal roll position straight away. A momentum management will be needed to take us through to the next keyhole. It is possible that the momentum management and a station keeping will be performed today - there is also a chance that it will be postponed until later. * We are getting Medium Rate telemetry on 34-meter stations through the Low Gain Antenna (LGA). * DSN for remainder of this week: Tuesday: D54 09:30 - 18:10 Wednesday: D34 00:40 - 02:45 D54 09:30 - 14:40 Thursday: D54 14:30 - 17:25 D34 23:50 - 04:00 Friday: D54 13:20 - 17:20 D45 23:15 - 02:50 D/L only D46 00:05 - 02:50 Uplink Saturday: D34 02:30 - 04:50 D65 06:00 - 14:15 D/L only D66 06:00 - 14:15 Uplink D14 16:40 - 20:40 D/L only D16 16:40 - 20:40 Uplink Sunday: D45 00:20 - 05:40 D/L only D46 00:20 - 05:40 Uplink D54 07:25 - 10:40 D65 10:20 - 14:50 D/L only D66 10:20 - 14:50 Uplink D45 23:05 - 06:50 D/L only D46 23:05 - 06:50 Uplink * Luis has created a new attitude file 'nominal_roll_attitude.dat' that will contain the value of the nominal roll angle of the spacecraft. It can be found at: http://soho.nascom.nasa.gov/data/ancillary/attitude/roll/nominal_roll_attitude.dat ftp://sohoftp.nascom.nasa.gov/pub/data/ancillary/attitude/roll/nominal_roll_attitude.dat so the instrument teams can begin testing the modifications to their software they may have to implement. Suggestions about format, etc. are still welcome. The exact time of the 180 roll on July 8 is unknown so the time field is now set to '00:00:00', but will be filled in with the correct time later. * Current RHESSI default target is AR10397. When selecting this target to maximize coordination w/others, use campaign number 6850. * Tour groups will be visiting the EOF on Thursday at 1pm and on Friday at 10:15am and 2:45pm. * A basewide network service outage for the gsfc.nasa.gov domain has been scheduled for the weekend commencing July 11th at 6:00 pm and ending at 12:00 midnight on Sunday July 13th.
