OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS (DSN Schedule, SVM Reserved) MDI Continuous ends 00:30 UT Wednesday During the +90 degree dwell period -- only a gap of 1 hour and 20 minutes in coverage. Instrument teams can therefore monitor their instruments for almost the entire dwell at +90 degrees. 4. They think they can handle offpointing as much as 15'' but in case they cannot -- MDI open and close the loop by themselves during the NRT session. On Thursday's roll, once we reach the delta of +90 degrees position, the FOT can give teams some NRT -- ~ 10 to 15 minutes (however the spacecraft will be in RMW mode with ~3 arcsec pointing error -- rather than normal pointing mode). Then the FOT will need about 45 minutes to get into normal pointing mode and perform a few other activities. After that, instrument teams can expect many hours of NRT. Most instrument teams seemed to think that 10 to 15 minutes of commanding would be sufficient to start their programs on-board running (with the exception of LASCO and UVCS). The FOT and SOC staffs have had a busy week. Almost complete timelines were presented at the weekly meeting. A final version will be distributed early next week. EIT will support Polar Plumes on Monday, and JOP003 Tuesday-Friday. Since no one from EIT will be at the EOF for most of the week, they will not be able to support many of the newer JOPs/Campaigns. SUMER will perform detector calibrations (closing the calibration gap curves on Tuesday) CDS will observe active regions on Wednesday and return GIS and NIS spectra.
