WEEKLY MEETING MINUTES for August 4- 10 1. Announcements ------------------ There is one less SOC available to aid instrument teams. Bobby Doney is leaving for another job in Virginia. Therefore, here is an updated list of ECS/SOC emergency and "off-hours" phone numbers: HOME PHONE BEEPER ------------- ---------- Laura Allen (SOC) 410-672-7189 301-303-7317 Piet Martens (SOC) 301-657-6240 301-966-9028 Kim Tolbert (System Admin) 301-441-9093 301-507-9234 2. Operations Constraints for next week. ------------------------------------------ DSN schedule fairly regular. No unusual SVM activities planned for next week. MDI continuous starts on Sunday, August 10 at 12:45 UT until Thursday, August 14 at 03:50 UT. Submode Switches: - August 4 -- Switch to Submode 6 at 13:00 UT. - August 8 -- Switch to Submode 5 at 19:00 UT. 3. Coordinated operations for next week ---------------------------------------- The following coordinated operations are planned for next week: M Aug 4 (W32) MDI/LaPalma #1690 , 8-12 UT Switch to Submode 6 at 13:00 UT JOP023: X-ray Bright Points w/Yohkoh CDS/EIT/MDI #1740 15 -21 UT, Coordinator: A. LASCO will be taking some extra polarization brightness sequences which will help support UVCS's minor ion study. Some more details about these campaigns will be discussed after the meeting. UVCS's plan will target the North Coronal Hole for 3 days at 1.6 solar radii, and 4 days at 1.9 solar radii. EIT CME watch continues. With the switch to Submode 6 switch they will be at full resolution in 195 Angstroms. EIT_MDI_High_Cadence_Campaign -- MDI will be taking continuous full disk magnetograms at 1 minute cadence all week which can be used in conjuction with the ~17 minute EIT CME watch cadencei. The only times MDI will not be performing this campaign is on Tuesday (after Bright Point Campaign) and at the end of the DSN pass on Wednesday when they will do some routine instrument engineering activities. Although this does not occur next week, SOC wanted to remind people of the SEM intercalibration rocket scheduled for August 11 at 18 UT. SOC has talked to Don McMullin and the rocket is still on time. No delays expected. So if any teams have programs they need to test prior to the rocket launch, next week would be the last opportunity. We will be in continuous contact on the day of the launch, therefore NRT should be plentiful. In addition, station handovers around the time of the launch have been minimized. There will be voice loops to White Sands and a launch status will be given over the loops starting 4 hours prior to the launch.
