WEEKLY MEETING MINUTES January 5 - 11 1. Announcements ----------------- None. 2. Operations Constraints ------------------------- * DSN schedule: Continuous Contact starts on Friday January 9 and continues until April 10th at 04:00 UT. First two months are "prime" MDI continuous, last month is "best effort". * Submode Switches: Will be in Submode #6 all week. 3. Coordinated Observations ---------------------------- Planned observations include: M Jan 5 (W02) T Jan 6 W Jan 7 T Jan 8 F Jan 9 Beginning of MDI 3 Month Continuous Contact Intercal001 (#4015) EIT/CDS, 15:00-16:30 UT S Jan 10 S Jan 11 Other Activities for Week 02: * 10 to 23 Jan: Target of opportunity, JOP063 (#4020), Absorption by H and He Continua in Prominences, EOF: Terry Kucera, CDS/EIT * MDI high-cadence helioseismology, only synoptic magnetograms every 96 minutes Submodes: Submode 6 all week. Planners for Week 02: SOL - No SOL CDS - Dominic Zarro SUMER - SUMER OFF/No Planner UVCS - John Kohl EIT - Joe Gurman MDI - Craig DeForest LASCO - Mike Andrews Relevant Notes: --------------- JOP063 -- occuring late in the week (Saturday & Sunday); expecting Terry Kucera to brief planners on this early next week. CDS -- This coming Sunday (Jan 4) will perform maps North and South poles Monday-Thursday is fairly open. CDS will probably coordinate with MDI before the continuous contact begins. On Friday will participate in the Intercal 001. EIT -- From Monday - Thursday, will be running their line ratio CME watch in two wavelengths (195 and 171 Angstroms) during normal working hours (14:30-22:00 UT) so as to monitor instrument health during the observations. On Friday, participating in Intercalibration001 with CDS. Saturday and Sunday, CME watch at 195 angstroms. EIT notes that other than JOP063 support and target of opportunities, which they already acknowledged they will support, the line ratio CME watch is a high priority for them. The want to concentrate on the line ratio CME watch prior to the TRACE launch, and will not make themselves available to other requests for JOP support. LASCO -- Synoptic in Submode #6. No unusual programs for LASCO next week. UVCS -- Taking profiles in Lyman-alpha at 3.5 to 6 solar radii from Monday - Saturday at the South coronal hole. On Sunday performing a calibration of their Lyman-alpha detector. MDI -- Will be performing calibrations on Monday and Tuesday of next week in preparation for continuous contact. Extra VC2 requested for these days. Will try and collaborate with CDS prior to continuous.
