Contact: Peter Brandt Goal: Sunspots & sunspot oscillations * Targets of Opportunity: (Please ask for campaign numbers if these are run by more than one participant !): - Wave Study, CDS/MDI (if MDI high resolution fov) at quiet Sun center for 8 hours at a time. Leader: Andrzej Fludra - Trapped Waves, CDS only, Long-duration raster sequence over coronal hole on limb. - Olso Active Region Loop Campaign -- Currently CDS only.. others want to join?? Semi-regular runs in June/July. Leaders: Olav Kjeldseth-More and Paal Brekke. Regular observation of AR loops above the limb. - Olso Sunspot Campaign -- Currently CDS only.. others want to join?? Semi-regular runs in June/July. Leaders: Olav Kjeldseth-More and Paal Brekke. Regular observation of sunspots. * June 22-25: SOHO-8 Workshop in Paris Submodes: Submode 6 all week. Planners for Week 25: CDS -- Stephen White MDI -- Julia Saba EIT -- Kevin Schenk SUMER -- Not observing. LASCO -- Ops Team UVCS -- Ester Antonucci TRACE -- Dawn Myers + [Palo Alto] Relevant Notes -------------- SERTS launch -- See http://orpheus.nascom.nasa.gov/serts/ which is now linked to main SOHO home page. During the flight the SSR will be used to make certain data losses are minimized. ~ 15:30 -- Transition from VC3 to VC2 Just prior to 16:15 UT -- Transition from VC2 to IDLE and Turn on SSR 16:15 - 17:55 -- SSR in Record ~ 17:56 -- Turn off SSR, Transition to VC2 for 30 minutes. Then to VC3. The SSR will be dumped at the end of the long contact that day. CDS -- Mainly JOPs mentioned, active region studies (a Gerry Doyle program) and targets of opportunity. UVCS -- Synoptic and Extended Synoptic / Global corona studies. EIT -- Submode 6 195 CME watch. LASCO -- C2 and C3 synoptics. MDI -- Wednesday or Thursday.. may switch to high resolution field if target cooperates. TRACE -- Will practice their program for the SERTs launch early in the week and participate in SERTS launch support. Probably some emerging flux studies Sunday the 27 from 6-24 UT.
