WEEKLY MEETING MINUTES Week 41, October 4-10, 2004 1. Announcements ---------------- * There will be no student in the SOC office on Saturday 9 October. If you need a SOC, contact Stein Haugan at home. * The public lobby of Bldg. 9 (the Main Gate) will be undergoing renovation from Monday, Sept. 20 - Sunday, Oct. 17. The lobby and interior stairway between floors will be closed during this time. All temporary badging activities for both employees and visitors will be relocated to Bldg. 88, Visitor's Center. All security services on the first floor of Bldg. 9 must be accessed via the outside entrance on the northwest end of the building (closest to Bldg. 8, adjacent to the location where special vehicle inspections occur at the Main Gate). * Solar physics talk by Stuart Jefferies on Tuesday 5 October at 3:30pm in the EAF on 2 topics: "Using high-frequency acoustic waves to determine the magnetic topology of the solar atmosphere, and improved helioseismic metrology" * The Main Gate will be closed to all vehicular traffic over the Columbus Day weekend, starting at 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9 - Monday, Oct. 11. This closure is to remove lead paint and repaint the canopy over the roadway. Gate #5 on Soil Conservation Road at Building 17, will be the only access to the main campus. The Main Gate will reopen at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 12. 2. Operations Constraints ------------------------- * Commanding times for the week: Monday - Gap from 16-20 UT.
