Dear SoHO Community: The formerly hand-typed "SoHO Operations Schedule" has become an obsolete method of communicating information. We are trying to create this information automatically from the ECS planning tool. Attached is a sample of the new format with operational information for the remainder of this week. Please note the following concerning the information contained in this report: * NRT times are not explicitly defined. As a rule NRT is available during DSN contacts and outside of SVM_Reserved and DSN_Handover times. * SVM Reserved times are provided for planning purpose only and consist of: - the first hour and the last 1/2 hour of each DSN contact. - 1/2 hour daily from 14:30 to 15:00 or during DSN contact - an additional 1/2 hour on Thursday from 14:00 to 14:30. * TLM_MDI_M times are also provided for planning purpose only and are based on estimated length of the SSR dump. These times are "best guess" and *NOT* exact. MDI will get 10 minutes of VC2 during short passes and 1 hour during the long pass. * DSN_Handover: Approximate station handover time frames. * ACTIVITY_JOP and ACTIVITY_CMP: Approximate times for JOPs and Campaigns. The exact times are provided by the participating instruments in their SCIPLAN and PROGRAM entries in the KAP files. * SOC_ECS_Staffing: Times when a SOC or ECS operator is present in the SOC office. * INST_DELAYED_CMD: Way of tracking instrument delayed command files and their uplink window. The actual uplink time could only be provided by the FOT and is not yet available in our planning system. Please, also note that the planning information is available in the .KAP files. Since the end of the continuous DSN contact period, a few errors have been found in these files that were maily due to activities that were scheduled at fixed times during the continuous contact. These problems are being corrected. In the event of special circumstances, such as orbit trim, momentum management, or commanding tests, a more detailed timeline will be sent out. An example of such a timeline is provided at the end of this message. We also want to remind you that the detailed information with SCIPLAN and PROGRAM entries is available in the KAP files. The graphical representation of the planning is available on the web. The KAP files are also being "cleaned-up" and are experiencing some growing pains. We wish to thank people for their patience during this transition to a new form of the operations schedule. We still have a few bugs to work out and ask for your continued cooperation, but we think it will be worth the wait... Regards. SOC
