SSW UTPLOT package 5-Feb-1997, RAS, SDAC/GSFC ------------------------------------------------------------------------ PROCEDURES: UTHELP, [/LONG] Type summary of UTPLOT routines, or if /LONG option is specified, type complete explanation of UTPLOT package. UTPLOT, X, Y [, 'UTBASE', LABELPAR=LBL, /SAV, TICK_UNIT=TICK, MINORS=MINORS, /NOLABEL, TIMERANGE=TIMERANGE, and all keywords available to plot] Plot X vs Y with UT labels. UTPLOT_IO, X, Y [, 'UTBASE', LABELPAR=LBL, /SAV, TICK_UNIT=TICK, MINORS=MINORS, /NOLABEL, TIMERANGE=TIMERANGE and all keywords available to plot] Plot X vs Y semi-log with UT labels. Same arguments as UTPLOT. UTPLOT_IO is no longer supported. Please use UTPLOT, /YTYPE SET_UTPLOT, [XRANGE=X, LABELPAR=LBL, UTBASE='BASE', ERROR_RANGE=ERROR_RANGE, ERR_FORMAT=ERR_FORMAT, TICK_UNIT=TICK, MINORS=MINORS, XSTYLE=XSTYLE] SET_UTLABEL, IFLAG IFLAG = 0/1 means don't/do write start time label on plot. Default is 1. CLEAR_UTPLOT Restores !X... structure to value prior to using UTPLOT with /SAV option or SET_UTPLOT. SETUT, [UTBASE='UTBASE', UTSTART='UTSTART', UTEND='UTEND', ERROR=ERROR, SET_UTPLOT=SET] Set base, start, or end time in common UTCOMMON. GETUT, [UTBASE='BASE', UTSTART='START', UTEND='END', /STRINGIT, /PRINTIT] Retrieve base, start, or end time from common UTCOMMON. GETUTBASE () Function to retrieve value of utbase in double precision seconds from common UTCOMMON without having to declare common. RESULT = GETUTBASE() SETUTBASE [,'UTBASE', ERROR=ERROR] Set base time. UTBASE - string in YY/MM/DD, HHMM:SS.XXX format to be converted to internal representation and stored in UTCOMMON variable UTBASE. ERROR - 0/1 indicates no error/error in converting UTSTRING SETUTSTART [,'UTSTART', ERROR=ERROR] Set start time. See SETUTBASE description. SETUTEND [,'UTEND', ERROR=ERROR] Set end time. See SETUTBASE description. ************************************************************************************ TIME CONVERSION ROUTINES: ANYTIM (INPUT, /INTS, /STC, /_2XN, /EXTERNAL, /UTIME, /SECONDS, or ...) This function is the universal format converter. See ANYTIM.PRO ATIME (UT, [/PUB]) Function to convert time to ASCII string. UT - Time to convert to string, in double precision seconds since 79/1/1, 0000:00.000 /PUB - Resulting string will have a colon (:) between hours and minutes UTPLOT_UTIME ('UTSTRING') Function to convert ASCII string to double precision seconds since 79/1/1, 0000. If no date is entered, previous date is not 'remembered'. Result is seconds into day. UTSTRING - String containing time in form YY/MM/DD,HHMM:SS.XXX ERROR - =0/1. If set to 1, there was an error in the ASCII time string. OTHER USEFUL CONVERSION ROUTINES: TJD2YMD (TJD) Converts from TJD to ANYTIM formats YMD2TJD (YMD) Converts ANYTIM formats to TJD UT_2_YYDOY (UT) Converts ANYTIM formats to YYDOY YYDOY_2_UT (YYDOY) Converts YYDOY to ANYTIM formats (For a hardcopy of this information, print the file utplot_short.txt in the utplot directory, /ssw/gen/idl/utplot.)
