Study 000183: ACRONYM: STA_loop Objective: ---------- to investigate the morphology of coronal loops which support longitudinal intensity perturbations, the nature of the (quasi-) periodic driver and the evolution of the perturbation as they travel through the different temperature regions of the solar atmosphere. Conditions Necessary to Run & Pointing: --------------------------------------- Occurrence of a relatively quiescent (non-flaring) coronal loop system either on the disk or limb. Involvement of, at a minimum, Hinode/EIS, SOHO/CDS and TRACE. Additional support from Hinode/XRT and Hinode/SOT/FPP NOTES to planners: ----------------- (i) The planner should use the study as defined, with one 'StA_loop 2" raster, followed by n repeats of 'StA_loop1' raster to fill the available time slot. (ii) The planner should not repeatedly switch between these rasters 1 and 2 in a study during a SAA would be extremely beneficial. (iii) When being run as part of a JOP, the high-cadence (single slit) runs of Hinode/EIS should occur at the same time as the TRACE and Hinode/XRT high-cadence runs. Raster 2 Slit/slot: 2" slit No of slit positions: 60 Total Spatial Width: 120" Pixels in solar-y: 512 Exposure time: 30 seconds Cadence: 33 minutes 27 seconds Data rate: 38 kbits/s Raster 1 Slit/slot: 40" slot No of pointing positions: 1 Total spatial width: 80" Pixels in solar-y: 416 Exposure time: 30 seconds Cadence: 1 minute 6 seconds Data rate: 38 kbits/s WARNING: Avoid rasters switching within SAA
