Study 000396: Acronym: mbps_2ar HOP152: Observations of magnetic bright points (MBPs) and pores. The primary objective of this HOP is clarifying the degree of magnetic wave coupling from the photosphere to corona, topological 3D magnetic connectivity and the efficiency of wave energy dissipation. Pointing: --------- MBP on 1st 6 days (Quiet Sun). AR pore or similar structure (small sunspot) on remaining 4 days. Pointing information for HOP152 will be provided by Robertus Erdelyi at Sac Peak or Mihalis Mathioudakis , tel.: +44-(0)28-90973573 Use/Instructions to planners: ----------------------------- Requested observation of an MBP in a Quiet Sun region for the first 6 days and a pore or a similar structure (small sunspot) for the remaining 4 days. The studies should be run from 15:00 UT for around 3 hours on 8-17 March 2010. The observing sequence is the following: ***** 1st 6 days (8-13 March 2009), Quiet Sun ***** 1) Run mbps_3 (context raster for about 5 mins) with 29 step x 2 arcsec scan for context image purposes. 2) Run mbps_1 for approx 1.5 hours 3) Run mbps_3 (context raster for about 5 mins) with 29 step x 2 arcsec scan for context image purposes. 4) Run mbps_2qs for about 1.5 hours 5) Run mbps_3 (context raster for about 5 mins) with 29 step x 2 arcsec scan for context image purposes. ***** 2nd 4 days (14-17 March 2009), Active Region ***** 1) Run mbps_3 (context raster for about 5 mins) with 29 step x 2 arcsec scan for context image purposes. 2) Run mbps_1 for approx 1.5 hours 3) Run mbps_3 (context raster for about 5 mins) with 29 step x 2 arcsec scan for context image purposes. 4) Run mbps_2ar for about 1.5 hours 5) Run mbps_3 (context raster for about 5 mins) with 29 step x 2 arcsec scan for context image purposes. Warning: ------- Do not run within SAAs
