Study 000478: ACRONYM: eitwave_synoptic This study should run while waiting for XRT flare trigger The main purpose of the synoptic study is to provide context sit-and-stare observations of the quiet corona prior to the passage of an EIT wave. This will allow the plasma density diagnostics of the coronal background to be separated from those of the EIT wave. TARGET: quiet Sun near an eruptive active region EXPOSURE TIME: 45 s (DELAY = 60 s) RASTER: Sit-and-stare SLIT: 2" NUMBER OF EXPOSURES: 30 FOV: 2"X512" RASTER DURATION: 56m 6s Data Volume: 42Mbits 2) Pointing: ------------ Approximate pointing is in the quiet Sun near to the chosen active region, with the active region retained in the XRT field-of-view. XRT flare trigger is enabled. A final decision on EIS pointing should be made in consultation with David Long (dml@mssl.ucl.ac.uk). 3) Use/Instructions to planners: -------------------------------- This study is to be run as a context raster while waiting for XRT flare trigger. The response study is eitwave_triggered. This study should run in four-hour chunks, using raster repeat with eitwave_triggered activated by the XRT flare trigger (response). 1) Run eitwave_synoptic in 4h chuncks (4 raster repeats) with XRT flare trigger enabled. The parameters setting is as follows: * Enable XRT FT * Enter EIS-XRT alignment parameters * Response study: eitwave_triggered * Verify XRT flare is in EIS FOV: Disabled * Disable Automatic (default) X repoint and Y repoint. Enter response study pointing parameters in their provided boxes. * Leave filler study disabled. For the 4h chunks run, it is recommended to use (Highlight the run and copy to Cursor line). This will copy the context, response and parameters to the new position (all trigger runs must be identical per plan). Final decision on pointing parameters (S/C pointing and X/Y pointing) should be made after consultation with David Long (dml@mssl.ucl.ac.uk). 4) WARNING: ----------- None
