Study 000496: ACRONYM: HPW021_VEL_120x512v3 *** RUN with JPEG85. This is now the default. Lower levels of *** compression lead to data loss. *** HPW021_VEL_120x512v3 is the same as HPW021_VEL_120x512v1 except *** for the exposure time, which has been extended to 240s for higher *** signal to noise in coronal holes. TARGET: Quiet Sun EXPOSURE TIME: 240s RASTER: Scanning SLIT: 1" STEP: 2" FOV: 120"x512" RASTER DURATION: 4h13m58s VOLUME: 84 Mbits RATE: 5.5 kbits/s COMPRESSION: JPEG85 *** RUN with JPEG85 *** This study is designed for velocity studies in coronal holes. The primary features of this study are: [1] full slit, [2] relatively deep exposures (240s), and [3] extensive line list. The current thinking is that the Fe VIII 185 and Si VII 275 lines are the best lines for velocity calibration. Pointing: --------- Adjust the pointing so that there is plenty of quiet Sun at the top OR the bottom of the slit. Instruction to planners: ------------------------ The planner should *not* put the feature of interest in the middle of the slit. Using the bottom or top third of the slit will provide more quiet Sun for velocity calibration. Warning: ------- 2" steps are taken between exposures (1" Slit).
