Study 000535: ACRONYM: PRY_flare_2 This study is intended to take spectra of flare kernels that appear during the rise phase of a flare. The parameters have been chosen based on lessons learnt from the data-set analyzed by Young et al. (2013, ApJ, 766, 127). Parameters Duration: 96secs Slit: 2" Raster size: 16"x120" Exposure time: 10.4s Data volume: 0.9 MB Data rate: 6.9 kB/s POINTING: -------- The pointing should be chosen carefully. Flare kernels do not appear in sunspots, but can appear nearby. They will be close to the neutral line in a region that is magnetically complex. INSTRUCTIONS TO PLANNERS: ------------------------- A context raster (e.g., PRY_slot_context_v3) should be run before and after the sequence of PRY_flare_2 rasters. WARNING: ------- None
