Study 000596: ACRONYM: TimeLag_quietARQS A sit-and-stare study for quiescent active regions and quiet sun areas designed to investigate properties of coronal heating using a systematic analysis of EUV light curves known as the time-lag method. Time-lag diagnostics correlate relative maxima that occur in light curves of emission lines formed at different temperatures to detect cooling trends in the observed areas. TARGET: quiescent active regions and quiet sun areas EXPOSURE TIME: 30s SLIT : 2" RASTER: sit-and-stare NO. OF EXPOSURES: 100 DURATION: 56m 08s SLIT LENGTH: 184" WINDOWS : 11 COMPRESSION: DPCM DATA VOLUME: 101.4 Mbits The wavebands are selected to observe the following lines: ---------------------------------------------------------- (1) 184.0-186.0: Fe X 184.537, Fe VIII 185.213 (+Ni XVI 185.230); (2) 187.5-189.0: Fe XI 188.216 & 188.299, Fe IX 188.497; (3) 194.4-195.8: Fe VIII 194.661, Fe XII 195.119+195.179; (4) 201.3-202.5: Fe XIII 201.538 & 202.044 (5) 262.0-265.5: Fe XVI 262.976, S X 264.231, Fe XIV 264.789; (6) 268.0-270.0: Mg VI 268.991, Fe XVII 269.420 & 269.886; (7) 273.8-274.5: Fe XIV 274.204; (8) 275.0-277.0: Si VII 275.361, Fe XVII 275.550; Mg V 276.579; (9) 279.5-281.0: O IV 279.631 & 279.933, Fe XVII 280.160+280.199, Mg VII 280.742; (10) 283.7-284.7: Fe XV 284.163. Pointing: --------- The target should be a quiescent (non-flaring) active region either on the disk or at the limb; if no active regions are available, quiet sun area anywhere on the disk. Instructions to planners: ------------------------- 1) Place the context study PRY_slot_context_v3 on the timeline first. 2) Then append the TimeLag_quietARQS study. Adjust the number of repeats to fill the available time slot, preferably with a minimum total duration of 3 or 4 hours. 3) Then append the context study PRY_slot_context_v3 to to complete the sequence.
