SOHO Software

There are two main types of software being used for the SOHO mission: for Science Operations and for Data Analysis. Although both are based on the same on-the-shelf packages (C, ORACLE, IDL, operative systems...) there is a very important difference between them: while the data analysis software will be upgraded and modified during the whole life of the mission and beyond, the software for operations will be frozen at all levels, from the operative system up to the highest level application.
