Summary of Status Meeting 19-Dec-1995 (Notes taken by SUMER) Meeting chaired by Piet Martens 0. Following this meeting ESA/MATRA will give presentations on the status of the SOHO. 1. FOT Status 1.1 S/C nominal and in normal mode. SUMER duty cycle adjustment. Tape recorder test went very well in general. Three runs back and forth were performed. An error message indicating a S/W error occurred and will require more testing today. MDI table uploading completed. 1.2 DSN No change of DSN schedule. 1.3 Completion of planned activities All planned activities completed. 2. Experiment status GOLF: Monitoring is being continued. VIRGO: No activity. MDI: Ready for opening of its door. SUMER: In stable bake-out mode now. Temperatures of telescope/spectro- meter unit close to 30 deg C. Several urgent adjustments were required to reach this state. Trouble-shooting on the visible light camera continued. The camera can provide accurate pointing and alignment data, but most likely will not be able to obtain spatially resolved images. CDS: Stable temperatures. UVCS: The pointing mechanism is still under investigation. The first roll maneouvre of 25.5 deg was performed at a rate of about 20 deg/min. This was higher than planned and led to a S/C roll excursion of approximately 10 arcsec. The pitch and yaw effects are being investigated. LASCO/EIT: Re-initiated thermal control. The pressure relief valve of EIT closed SWAN: Performed observations of the sky. CELIAS: MTOF and STOF are in standby (bake-out w/o HV). CTOF ready to be switched on today. CEPAC: No change. ground calibration. 3. Modifications to today's schedule None 4. Tomorrow's plan SUMER requested 10 min NRT on Wednesday for thermal adjustment. 5. Open issues S/C reaction to UVCS roll will be presented tomorrow. There will be a meeting on ESR/thermal reactions at 15:00 EST today. MDI asked whether a command history log is availbale. 6. AoB As of tomorrow the nominal 8 hr contact period will be in effect. A. Poland announced the plan for an anomaly reporting system on WWW (restricted access).
