The polar crown filaments are visible in the North, as well. A prominence is seen on the SE limb: possible target for the Lites (Sac Peak) program over weekend. A few bright points are seen in the EIT and Yohkoh images. INSTRUMENT REPORTS: CDS - Nominal. Started collecting data at 21:00 UT. Supported JOP33 and Loop Filling Factor program. SUMER - Nominal. Various studies, including the JOP33 jet program carried out for evolving bipolar region to S of disk center, and groundbased programs at Tenerife and Kitt Peak. Early today observed meridian passage of evolving BP N of disk center using JOP33 UDP. UVCS - Nominal. Will flatfield the O IV detector through most of weekend. LASCO - Nominal. Will change synoptic program (through Monday): C1 greenline cadence from 1=>2 hours; every 1/2-hr will acquire greenline in SW quadrant. EIT - Nominal. Supported loop filling factor program, JOP33, and CO-IR groundbased program (Kitt Peak). Saturday: Lites prominence study (14-17 UT); Sunday: Harvey XBP campaign (17 UT). MDI - Nominal. Supported several programs -- EX, JOP33, CO-IR -- with a 75% Sun FOV from N pole down: full-disk-resolution magneto and Doppler grams, 1 min cadence. Today (Friday): calibration in afternoon, followed by support of CO-IR in high-res mode); Saturday-Monday: high-res helioseismology; rehersal for moving instrument legs (to recenter image on detector).
