Vial, Brigitte Schmieder (MEDOC) ANNOUNCEMENT ------------ Change in MEDOC Daily Meeting hours: MEDOC Daily Meeting will be held every day at 10:30 (8:30 UT) FOT REPORT ----------- S/C Status is Nominal with the exeception of Receiver #1 Anomaly Summary: 143/19:24 and 144/16:50 -- COBS Single DMA Failure 144/12:04 -- CEPAC ESU Data Request error Accomplished Activities: 143 -- RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS, SWAN, VC2 time-tags cmds, New Guidestar (6.4 mag) 144 -- RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS, VC2 time-tags cmds, CEPAC ESU recovery 145 -- RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS, VC2 time-tags cmds Planned Activities: RSL, VIRGO, CEPAC, VC2 via time-tags Ground System Anomaly Summary: 143/18:52 TM Dropout due to D16 antenna off-pointing (1 minute recoverable) 144/17:06 TM Dropout due to heavy rain at DSS-61 (3 minutes, recoverable) 144/16:35 TC Block sequence errors (NRT Paused several minutes) 144/19:04 POCC Prime String Crashed 145/17:26 TC Block Sequence Error (NRT delayed 8 minutes) 145/20:59 TM Dropout due to equipment problem, DSS-27 (1 minute recoverable) STATUS OF THE SUN and GBO's ---------------------------- Yesterday, EIT observed brightenings corresponding to the various events on the rise of the B7 flare in AR 8406 (?) near the SE limb, and at least one Moreton wave, beginning at 14:35 UT (corresponding to brightening at 14:01 UT and first darkening at 14:18 UT). Another event, with possible Moreton wave began at 15:50 UT. Stable filament at North-East region (target of JOP9) JOP9 : Good observations of the NE filament THEMIS, VTT and GCT: bad weather on the Islands. INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS : nominal. SUMER : nominal. During "JOP9 time", filament study at S-W. Pointings for today updated on Saturday (help of SOC appreciated) EIT -- nominal. From 21:04 - 22:41 UT ran microjet program and saw a broad but short jet at 21:13 UT. Saw CME (as noted in Solar Status..). LASCO -- saw a large CME on the East limb at 16:04 UT yesterday The CME was aimed right at Ulyssess -- they have been waiting for a CME like this to occur. UVCS -- still running same program as last week MDI -- nominal. still in continuous. MODES: ------- CDS - Network oscillations: at (16:00 - 24:00) but moved around 14:00 if JOP 33 is not run SUMER - Network Oscillations (modified version in Ne VIII lines) EIT - does not support JOP 12/17/33 (coordinates not received by Sunday noon) but continues CME watch - one hour for the network oscillations program at 16:00 UT with shutter and in 304 A (1 minute cadence). Detailed Plans: --------------- Coordinates for Tuesday 27 1997 Campaign with PIC du MIDI, THEMIS Yohkoh, Ondrejov, Wroclaw, and many others. SUMER will observe a filament S32 W 52 between 6:30 to 16:00 with NV programme , then after 8:00 with Ly programme. CDS will observe between 6:30 -8:00 JOP 17 filament S32 W 52 (660" -551 ") 8:00-10:00 JOP 12 Prominence N 0-20 E (-980" 114") 10:00-12:00JOP 17 Filament N32 E 14 (-195" 528") 12:00-16:00 JOP 33 AR 8046 S27" E28" (-400" -412") EIT will provide full disk images every 17 minutes Yohkoh will run in automatic mode (many full disk images + on the brighter region some PFIs) After 16:00 Network Oscillations (CDS, SUMER, EIT): (560, 0 arcsec ) for May 27 at 16:00 UT SUMER observation out of the limb , North, Ly betta, OVI at (640, 900)
