Friday, 5 December 1997 SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes Chair: L. Allen (SOC)/ P. Lemaire (SOL) Notes: B. Thompson (EIT) FOT Briefing ------------ Spacecraft Status: Nominal Spacecraft Anomalies: None Accomplished Activities: RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS, Nom HGA, TR Maint & Record on TR Planned Activities: RSL, VIRGO, SWAN, CELIAS (2140) Acquire new tracking star (5.5 mag, slot 3) Wallops Command Test (339/1630-1830) Ground Anomalies: 338/1336 - TM Dropout; D66 receiver dropped lock (11 secs, unrecoverable) 338/2018 - TC Block lost between POCC & D27 (14 min NRT pause) 339/0015 - Resweeps required at D42; Wrong parameters used (7 min delay) 339/0028 - Oscillating uplink frequency caused RCVR2 SPE fluctuation 339/0126 - TM Dropout; JPL Comm to GSFC Interface dropped (47 secs, recoverable) 339/0215 - Resweep required for ranging at D46 (21 min delay) Teams reported ratty telemetry data (since ~ November 18..). ECS staff (Kim Tolbert) is adjusting programs to examine and plot data dropouts with time. Instrument teams experiencing lower quality data telemetry should inform a member of ECS staff (Kim or Laura) so that we can look into the problem and try and correlate with FOT to alleviate data dropouts. Status of the sun: ------------------ Eruptive prominence late yesterday, LASCO CME off the west limb. Streamers concentrated in the NE and SW, several filaments and active regions on the disk, including an active region on the SW limb. There is still a sunspot and penumbra in the active region in the NW. JOP report: ----------- CDS, EIT, and MDI are participating in JOP073, the Blinkers campaign. Instrument Status: ------------------ MDI: Nominal. Continuing Blinkers study campaign, with hi-res velocities, magnetogram, filtergram. EIT: Nominal. "Jet-like" brightenings NW of the active region in the NW. EIT will be supporting the Blinkers campaign all weekend in addition to the 195 Angstrom half-res CME watch. EIT will choose the same pointing for the Blinkers campaign as the top half of the MDI hi-res FOV. LASCO: Nominal. Continuing the synoptic program through the weekend. UVCS: Nominal. Continuing the Helium I focussing cone at the southpole today and tomorrow. SUMER: Nominal. Running detector tests. CDS: Nominal. Ran sunspot study this morning, continuing blinkers campaign, observed AR 8114 and will probably continue this target until next week. This afternoon CDS will observe the southern coronal hole.
