SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes, February 06, 1998 Chairs: J. Hollis (SOC)/K. Dere (SOL) Announcements ------------- The SNOE launch has been postponed until no sooner than Friday, February 13 so DSN gaps expected this week and next week have been eliminated. A reminder that SOHO will be switching to submode 4 on Saturday at 20:30 UT. FOT Briefing ------------ Spacecraft Status: Nominal Spacecraft Anomalies: None Accomplished Activities: RSL,NOM HGA,VIRGO,SWAN,CELIAS,SUBMODE 5 @ 1936 CEPAC-RETURN ERNE TO OBSERVATION Planned Activities: RSL,VIRGO,CELIAS(2100) Upcoming Operations: NONE Ground Anomalies: 036/1759 2 Min TM Dropout D27 Problem with local LAN. Recoverable 036/1810 1 Min TM Dropout D16 LAN Problem at JPL. Recoverable 037/0312 46 sec TM Dropout D46 TCA Channel 1 problem. Nonrecoverable Possible loss of 0312 Magnetogram. 037/0609 33 Sec TM Dropout D46 Message Switcher at JPL Recoverable 037/0630 2 Min TM Dropout D46 Problem Unknown Recoverable INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- SUMER: Performed memory checkout tests yesterday. All went well except for slight problem with flat field, will work on correction on board next week. Abundance studies in streamers in W and E planned. Will also do redshift studies looking in all 4 quadrants. Three other groups have found redshifts with SUMER data. CDS: Nominal. Blinkers study this morning and will do flat field measurements (see if CDS discovers a problem since EIT had one on Feb. 4) CDS will be performing a solo run of JOP 67 today. They did some tests yesterday to see what CDS leg motions influenced MDI's PZTs. Discovered that being at the extreme positions (not motion) caused PZT spikes. MDI: Nominal. Continuous dynamics. EIT: Nominal. Synoptic studies. 195 CME watch with 2 x 2 binning instead of full resolution. Last night observed a CME at 02:20. There was a quick flow at first (see movie). In 304 it appears as an eruption. UVCS: Nominal. Waves study continues. LASCO: Doing synoptic full field images. Current image rate is 1 C3 images per hour, 2 C2 images per hour, and 4 C1 images per hour. When we switch to Submode 4, this rate will be reduced.
