Accomplished Activities: VIRGO, New guide star (until DOY 044), Extra hr VC2 Planned Activities: VIRGO, Extra hr VC2 Upcoming Operations: Week of 3/1 - Maneuver Ops Ground Anomalies: 040/1625 - TC anomalies due to IP router problem (110 min commanding delay) Other: 045/2230-2300 - TM/TC outage for SFG/Net reconfiguration (data recoverable) Telemetry interrupted during the 07:30 UT pass this morning. Problem between JPL and Goddard network. From 10:06 through the end of pass at 12:40, the SSR was commanded to record "in the blind" to get eliminate lost data. Reason for interruption was all T-1 data lines down for DSN. SOLAR STATUS: -------------- SOLAR ACTIVITY FORECAST: SOLAR ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE LOW. ISOLATED C-CLASS FLARES ARE POSSIBLE FROM REGION 8456 AND 8458. GEOPHYSICAL ACTIVITY FORECAST: THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO BE QUIET TO UNSETTLED WITH ISOLATED ACTIVE CONDITIONS OVER THE NEXT TWO DAYS. ACTIVITY WILL DECLINE TO QUIET TO UNSETTLED NEAR THE END OF THE PERIOD. THE GREATER THAN 2 MEV ELECTRON FLUX AT GEO-SYNCHRONOUS ALTITUDE IS EXPECTED TO BE AT MODERATE TO HIGH LEVELS. EIT: 2/09: 12:25 AR 8458 CME off East limb. 17:12 West limb prominence material "evaporates off". 18:25 AR at NE limb, CME along with small rising absorptions. 2/10: 05:25 Small CME off NNE limb. 05:50 AR 8453 in SW, CME and flare,"clear" wave seen in 284A movie. 07:36 AR 8456 eruptive prominence. LASCO: 2/09: 13:15 UT NNE CME in C2 and seen in C3 at 13:43 UT; coincides with the eruption in EIT. 2/10: 04:57 CME in C2 off West limb, Not clearly defined in C3. 05:44 Very fast, defined NNE CME in C2 later at 06:44 in C3. Instrument Reports: -------------------- EIT Nominal. CME Watch at 12 minute cadence with 284A filter LASCO Nominal.
