Times: 0209, 0216 073/1933 30 second telemetry dropout due to SFG reset. Recoverable from CDR. 073/0121 Receiver 2 spurious locks. Locked on uplink 13 times, with and without ranging enabled. ROLL TRIM: ---------- Due to necessary RSL correction, roll will be adjusted today by an amount ~ 400 arcseonds. The exact times & amounts will be given in tomorrow's daily meeting minutes. SOLAR STATUS ------------ SOLAR ACTIVITY FORECAST: SOLAR ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE LOW TO MODERATE. REGIONS 8485 AND 8487 MAY PRODUCE ISOLATED M-CLASS FLARES SOMETIME DURING THE PERIOD. GEOPHYSICAL ACTIVITY FORECAST: THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO VARY FROM QUIET TO ACTIVE LEVELS DURING THE FIRST TWO DAYS DECREASING TO QUIET TO UNSETTLED LEVELS ON THE FINAL DAY. THE GT 2 MEV ELECTRON FLUX AT GEOSYNCHRONOUS ALTITUDE MAY REACH HIGH LEVELS SOMETIME DURING THE FORECAST PERIOD. 3/13 DOY 072: 00:28 Dimming along filament channel in NNE 05:12 CME off SW limb; bright feature @07:25 ~.3Ro Seen in C2 at 06:54 as two defined events 20:22 wave/cme off SW from AR8487; seen in C2 at 23:54 at lower SSE as large CME; in C3 at 01:42 3/14 3/14 DOY 073: 01:26 in C2, very large CMEoff East limb; in C3 at 03:42 06:54 in C2 CME from NNE; in C3 at 08:18 11:54 in C2 fast jet from NNW; in C3 at 13:42 12:48 in EIT, large CME from behind limb in East. 13:13 in EITLarge CME behind West limb; in C2 at 15:26 and 16:42 in C3 21:26 in C2, another CME off West limb; in C3 at 22:18 3/15 DOY 074: 03:24 in EIT AR8487 coincides with M1 flare seen in GOES 06:36 from NE AR8487 Moreton wave with dark filament seen in C2 at 06:54 with large CME in NNE and later in C3 at 07:42 INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal. Weekend: Study of Deep Spectra in quiet sun and monitoring studies. Today: fillament study with SUMER, Active Region study with TRACE. Tomorrow: Spectra Study with Helen Mason. SUMER: Nominal. Quiet sun study with TRACE, bright points then JOP95 test run of 9 hours. UVCS: Nominal. Weekend performed synoptics and CME watch in NNE region. Today, the same. LASCO: Nominal. C1 FP tests completed. C2 and C3 synoptics while CME watching. EIT: 195A CME watch. Today the same 195A CME watch with a focusing test. Increasing internal temperatures by 1.5 degrees to test focus. MDI: Nominal. Performed Dynamics Program with Dopplers and Intensitygrams at a 1 minute cadence. Later today will switch to a full disk magnetogram program. TRACE: Nominal. Bright points study today. Later, fillament study with SUMER and CDS then JOP 83 in 171A and 195A. Will change to Active Region study of 8487 for rest of day with CDS.
