Schenk (LASCO) ANNOUNCEMENTS ------------- * Today at 16 UT changing to Submode 6. * Friday daily meeting 30 minutes earlier (9:30 a.m.) followed by short weekly, then at 10:30 SPWG in EAF. Please review the SOHO calendar prior to the SPWG. Lots of additions. Including a possible momemtum management during Week 20 (mid-May). More details at the SPWG and in the SPWG minutes. * FOT will be needing to dump the SSR soon (recording during ranging handovers). FOT would like to perform dump before or on April 1 prior to the tape recorder maintenance. Craig DeForest to check with MDI counterparts if that is okay or if prefer an earlier date.. and report back in the daily meeting tomorrow. * Discovery Channel On-line will be launching a 'Views of Nature' web site which will be incorporating EIT, SXT, and MDI images. So keep an eye on it. FOT REPORT ---------- Spacecraft Status: Nominal Spacecraft Anomalies: None Accomplished Activities: VIRGO, CELIAS, Clock Freqeuncy Adjustment, New Tracking Star. Planned Activities: RSL, VIRGO, CELIAS Upcoming Operations: 4/1 TR Maintenance and CDMU/ACU Memory Dumps Ground Anomalies: 081/1800 Voice lines and Big Pipe outage at SPC-10. No TM or CMD lost Conducted pass on little pipe and black phone. SOLAR STATUS ------------ SOLAR ACTIVITY FORECAST: SOLAR ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE VERY LOW TO LOW. GEOPHYSICAL ACTIVITY FORECAST: THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO BE QUIET TO UNSETTLED. 3/22 DOY 081: 19:00 UT EIT eruptive filament with wave in channel trailing AR8493. 3/23 DOY 082: 02:36 eruptive filament in SE. Shows rising loops on West limb by 05:12 UT. C2 sees partial halo CME from this event, but covered partially by occulter pylon. Later at 06:54 UT C2 shows an addition to the moving ejecta from the SSW region. GOES activity very low 'B' class INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal. Performed JOP083 and Sunspot observations. Today Lyman studies, high cadence observations then GIS engineering. Tomorrow Plague vs. quiet sun studies. SUMER: Nominal. Performed AR loops studies. At 13:00 SUMER high voltage switched to stand-by. Door will remain open. UVCS: Nominal. Performed synoptics and CME watch in NNE region. Today, the same. LASCO: Nominal. C2 and C3 synoptics while CME watching. Tommorrow Dynamic Plumes study with MDI in C3 13:30-22:00 EIT: 195A CME watch. Today the same 195A CME watch with a focusing test at 3.0 degrees increased in temperature. MDI: Nominal. Continous Dynamics campaign. TRACE: Nominal. Missed AR8487 studies in 171A and 195A filters. Will attempt to re-run Friday. Start emerging flux program at 00:00 UT then change to to the AR emergence campaign with MDI.
