ISOLATED, LOW-LEVEL M-CLASS FLARES ARE LIKELY. THERE IS ALSO A SLIGHT CHANCE FOR A MAJOR FLARE SOMETIME DURING THE PERIOD. GEOPHYSICAL ACTIVITY FORECAST: THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO REMAIN AT QUIET TO UNSETTLED LEVELS WITH A CHANCE FOR ACTIVE LEVELS AT HIGH LATITUDES. 6/29 DOY 180: 13:25 UT C4 flare from AR 8611. C2 sees a defined jet off West limb due to this at 13:31. 14:30 UT C2 sees a CME from East limb. 19:13 UT EIT sees a M1 flare fron AR 8603, very compact area to it's west. 18:54 C2 sees a faint full Halo with no distinct leading edge. 22:12 UT EIT sees a C8 flare from AR8603 West end. 6/30 DOY 181: Emerging flux of region West of AR8603, active. 03:30 C2 sees a bright CME from East limb. At 04:12 EIT sees start of large CME from behind limb in NW. M1 flare from AR8611 at 04:36 UT. C2 sees a large leading edge (150 deg wide) off West limb, develops into a 360 degree Halo event. 06:48 UT EIT sees C5 flare from AR8603. 09:54 Large bright CME off East limb in C2. 11:36 UT EIT sees M1 flare from AR8603. 11:54 UT, C2 sees a full Halo event with no distinct leading edge. INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal. Ground system restored. High cadence sunspot studies performed. Today will observe Sunspots rastering and in high cadence. Tomorrow, GIS raw data dumps and Sunspots. SUMER: Nominal. Not observing. UVCS: Nominal. Performed synoptics and Global Sun Study. Today the same at last position angle, 1.5 - 3.0 Rsun at 9 heights. LASCO: Nominal. C2 and C3 synoptics while CME watching. EIT: Nominal. 195A CME Watch Full Res. MDI: Nominal. Observing in high res field until 16:00 then full disk magnetograms. TRACE: Nominal. Performed sunspot study and the same today. Tomorrow, Flare watch at active regions 8603 or 8612, then at 16:00 begin Spicules Study with Big Bear.
