Schenk (EIT) DOY: 195 FOT REPORT ---------- Spacecraft Status: Nominal Spacecraft Anomalies: None Accomplished Activities: VIRGO, RSL, New tracking star (6.8 mag, slot 2) Planned Activities: VIRGO, CELIAS, SWAN Ground Anomalies: 194/1345 - TM Dropout at D16; RCVR1 lost lock twice (3 min, unrecov) 194/1436 - TC Block Length Error during RSL uplink 195/0440 - TM Dropout at D54; Cause unknown (30 secs, recov) SOLAR STATUS ------------ SOLAR ACTIVITY FORECAST: SOLAR ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE LOW. GEOPHYSICAL ACTIVITY FORECAST: THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO BE QUIET TO UNSETTLED EARLY IN THE PERIOD. THERE IS A FAIR CHANCE FOR ACTIVE CONDITIONS LATE IN THE PERIOD AS A RESULT OF RECENT SOLAR EVENTS. 7/13 DOY 194 - 7/14 DOY 195 EIT daily On-Line Solar Status and observations: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/eit/plan/log_form19990714.html Main Event: 7/13 15:48 UT EIT and LASCO see large eruptive prominence in NE quadrent. C2 and C3 see continued outflow after eruption. Goes is showing only "B" Class activity levels on disk at this date. INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal. Sunspot campaign looking at AR8631 sunspot group near disk center. Oscillations program on same AR group. Will begin tracking AR8628 for Temperatures, densities, and diagnostics today and tomorrow. UVCS: Nominal. Continued Synoptics and Oxygen VI channel calibrations. LASCO: Nominal. C2 and C3 synoptics while CME watching. EIT: Nominal. 195A CME Watch Full Resolution. calibrations 15:00-15:30 UT MDI: Nominal. Full disk mags and velocities. WIll change to High Resolution Field Friday at 13:30 UT and continue through the weekend. TRACE: Nominal. Sunspot study of AR8631 all day.
