FOT REPORT ---------- Spacecraft Status: Nominal Spacecraft Anomalies: None Accomplished Activities: VIRGO, SWAN Planned Activities: VIRGO, CELIAS, Nominal HGA Table Start MDI Continuous Ops (5 days) Ground Anomalies: None SOLAR STATUS ------------ SOLAR ACTIVITY FORECAST: SOLAR ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO BE LOW TO MODERATE. REGIONS 8858 AND 8861 ARE THE MOST LIKELY CANDIDATES FOR M-CLASS ACTIVITY. GEOPHYSICAL ACTIVITY FORECAST: THE GEOMAGNETIC FIELD IS EXPECTED TO BE QUIET TO UNSETTLED. 02/09 DOY 040 - 02/10 DOY 041 EIT daily On-Line Solar Status and observations: http://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/eit/plan/log_form20000210.html 02/10 DOY 041 12:50 UVCS began observations of comet SOHO-104 (110 degrees) at 6.4, 5.75, 4.6 and 3.3 Rsun. LASCO also observed this comet in C3 all day yesterday through 12 UT today. INSTRUMENT STATUS ----------------- CDS: Nominal. Synoptics, GIS monitoring, Flare interrupt study and Oslo active region study planned for today. UVCS: Nominal. Observed comet SOHO-104 this morning. CME watch at 16:15 in NW at 1.6 Rsun and 1.9 Rsun. Full synoptic tonight. Synoptic and CME watch for tomorrow. LASCO: Nominal. Observations in C2 and C3 while CME watching. EIT: Nominal. CME watching with 195 Angstrom images at 12-minute cadence. MDI: Nominal. Full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams today and tomorrow in support of TRACE Emerging Flux study. Then may switch to high resolution FOV to observe a large sunspot that is expected to be there. TRACE: Today AR 8858 for 2 hours. At 03:35 began Emerging Flux study that runs for the rest of the day with tracking (positions in arc seconds W/E, N/S [-381, 323] ). Will be using 171, 1600, WL ~ 40s cadence, 171, 195, 284, 1600, WL every 5 cycles.
