SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes for Friday, 23 February 2001
ANNOUNCEMENTS

* There was no SOHO Daily Meeting Thursday due to SOHO maneuvers.
* TODAY - Building 3: PMI is scheduled to install the batteries in
3-UPS-20 on February 23 from 8:00AM until 4:30PM. The UPS unit will
be in bypass mode and the load will be on commercial power during
this activity. Escorts will be provided by MSOCC maintenance personnel.
No impact to operations is expected. 3-UPS-20 supports the SOHO, ACE,
W/P and XTE missions.

INSTRUMENT STATUS

CDS: Nominal. Today - CDS opens its door. Saturday and Sunday - Quiet Sun
Transient Events Study for 12 hours in the MDI high res field of view.
UVCS: Nominal. Today - Synoptics and interplanetary hydrogen observations.
Weekend - Lyman-alpha calibrations and synoptics.
LASCO: Nominal. Opening doors after 20 UT, an hour of calibrations each
for C2 and C3, then resuming C2 and C3 synoptics.
EIT: Nominal. 195 Angstrom CME watch and synoptics today. At 01:30 UT
tomorrow EIT will switch to 304 Angstrom CME watch with a 12-minute
cadence for the weekend's Quiet Sun Transient Events Study.
MDI: Nominal. Full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams today. Starting
early Saturday MDI will begin full-field, 2 variables observations in
the high res field of view for the weekend's Quiet Sun Transient
Events Study. This same mode will continue Monday for JOP122, unless
a switch to Full Disk mode is required by SUMER pointing restrictions.
TRACE: Nominal. TRACE will do more umbral flash and flarewatch studies on
AR 9354. In addition, there will be tests of observing programs
for this weekend's MEDOC workshop quiet sun program, and JOP 122.
