SOHO Daily Meeting Minutes for Thursday, 30 August 2001
ANNOUNCEMENTS

* Submode change at 15 UT on Friday 31 August.
* We have the updated format contingency scripts. If you would like
a copy, please let us know.
* There is a chance of a proton storm this week so watch the GOES
plots carefully!
* Commanding schedule for next week:
Monday - Commanding is good all day.
Tuesday - Command after 15:30 UT.
Wednesday - Command before 14 UT or after 17:30 UT.
Thursday - Command before 18 UT or after 20 UT.
Friday - Commanding is good all day.
Saturday - Commanding is good all day.
Sunday - Command before 14 UT or after 17 UT.
* Normal Center telephone services (286 exchanges) will be completely
unavailable from 6:00 pm on Friday, August 31, 2001, through 11:59 pm
on Monday, September 3, 2001.
Our building will be one of the first to be brought back up, so by
midnight on Friday we should have working phones again and can receive
and make outside calls. However, on-campus dialing will not be
available until the entire cutover is complete.
If you have an instrument emergency during that weekend and cannot
reach the SOHO FOT, contact the SOC at home (Joan: 410-531-3360,
Emily: 410-451-1402, Stein: 410-997-8102) and the SOC will call
the FOT OE's.
Visitors will not be allowed on base that weekend. All SOHO people
with badges will be allowed on base. If you are on base and there is
an emergency, call the emergency number 301-474-7075. Call from a cell
phone, pay phone, or pull the nearest fire alarm. The payphone in our
building will work.

INSTRUMENT STATUS

CDS: Nominal. AR studies on AR9591, TR events study with SUMER on the
west limb, GIS engineering and synoptics. Tomorrow: AR studies
until 20 UT then GIS engineering.
SUMER: Nominal. Rho Leo observations and TR events study with CDS.
Tomorrow: going to STANDBY at 13 UT (doors remain open).
UVCS: Nominal. Rho Leo, polar streamer and CME observations, synoptics.
Tomorrow: Rho Leo observations.
LASCO: Nominal. C2/C3 synoptics, C3 comets in colors observations.
LASCO might increase the exposure times for comets campaign.
While EIT does its bakeout LASCO will do extra white light
images.
EIT: Nominal. 195 CME watch at half res and synoptics four times
a day at full res. Tomorrow EIT has two hours of calibrations
and begins its bakeout which continues until September 4.
MDI: Nominal. Full disk dopplergrams and magnetograms during its
5-day continuous contact. Cross calibration observations
began at the start of MDI continuous with GONG+.
TRACE: Nominal. Observing AR 9591 in 284A.
