ANNOUNCEMENTS
-------------
* We had problems receiving email in the EOF on soc since some time yesterday,
but the problem is now fixed.
* Holiday contact information - Each instrument team should email
to the SOCs a special contact list with vacation dates and phone
numbers where people can be reached while out of town.
* It may be impossible to access MDI data on 30-31 December since they are
re-arranging the computer room.
* DSS-16 is in maintenance and won't be up until week 2 of 2002.

Proton Event: At 01:30 EST this morning SOCs were notified that
------------ a proton storm was in progress. Fortunately, proton
levels dropped rapidly and no instruments were safed.
(CDS was not doing science observations, see below).
There is a possibility that the shock passage will
involve higher particle counts.
INSTRUMENT STATUS
-----------------
CDS: Nominal. CDS observations were temporarily interrupted for
patch loads on Tuesday. NRT ended before science loads could
be uplinked. Active region monitoring is expected to resume today.
UVCS: Nominal. Coronal hole observations and synoptics today and
tomorrow.
LASCO: Nominal. C2/C3 synoptics. For the next month, color sequences
will be taken daily in C3 for flat fielding purposes.
EIT: Nominal. 195 Angstrom CME watch and synoptics.
MDI: Nominal. Full disk campaign of magnetograms and dopplergrams.
