Eclipse and TXI rocket support. The CDS GIS detector 2 was powered on at 23:01 UT yesterday in time for eclipse observations today. For the rocket flight support CDS and TRACE will point at the same active region. CDS also does the other half of their limb scan today in support of the eclipse observations. For tomorrow, CDS is doing a full sun scan. UVCS: Nominal. Eclipse and post-eclipse observations. UVCS will also continue characterization of white light channel observations. Tomorrow: finish eclipse observations and do synoptics. LASCO: Nominal. C2/C3 synoptics and JOP139 observations. LASCO will also do two full-color sequences today and Friday for eclipse observations support. EIT: Nominal. 195 CME watch. EIT will do extra synoptic sets in support of the eclipse and TXI rocket observations. MDI: Nominal. Supporting before and after the eclipse and rocket flight with the campaign that alternates 2 minutes of full disk with 8 minutes of high resolution magnetograms. Later today MDI will return to full disk mode. TRACE: Nominal. TRACE will collaborate with the eclipse-watchers in Africa on a target on the east limb. There will be some scattered light measurements during a grazing eclipse at ~14:30. Then TRACE will collaborate with the TXI rocket launch by observing AR 9506.
