MEDOC Daily planning for Thursday 18 October 2001: --------------------------------------------------- Movies were shown of JOP 137 with good data The planning of JOPs for the 18th has been complicated by two constraints: The timing and poitioning for setting the SUMER slit x position and the uncertain behaviour of the solar streamers for JOP 130. Finally the following has been agreed as a good compromise. The SUMER slit will be changed today at 1900 ((17th) from x=990 to 930 in order to help the JOP 137/104 observations. The SUMER slit change planned for 18th will be delayed until the period 2000-2100. This will be set to around +600, but to be confirmed only on morning of 18th. SUMER slit set at x=930 0130-O800 JOP133 [930,-120] 0800-0930 JOP 131 [930, 220] 0930-2000 JOP 104 [930, -520] 2000 reset slit to near +600 (TBC) 2100-0100 JOP 130 [581,854] CDS 0130- mini-synoptique 0800-0930 JOP-131 [931, 220] 0930-1300 JOP-149 [431, 200 and 263, 144] 1300-1600 JOP 104 [930, -490] 1600-2000 JOP 130 [581, 854] 2000-2400 JOP 38, large area around [-230, -340] UVCS 1600-1600 (19 oct) JOP 130 plus mini-synoptics THEMIS supporting JOP 131 and JOP 149 ----NEW - After MEDOC meeting --- Target for Oct18 2001 after the MEDOC meeting; 08:00-09:30 JOP 131 with CDS and SUMER prominence N 15 W Efinar 2 09:30 -11:00 JOP 149 without SUMER Filament in front of the region N17 W28 (Oct18 at 08:00) CDS EFINAR 1 + EFINAR 2 (repeat) 11:00-13:00 AR 9661 N15 W 16 Oct18 at 08:00) CDS EFINAR 1 + EFINAR 2 (repeat) ----------------------------- on Oct 18 the SUMER slit will be close to the limb but will move to +600 probably at 21 00UT obn Oct 18. ------------- plans for 18 , 19, 20 October AR 9661 with the filament around with TRACE and CDS and SUMER on the filament We would like that EIT observes the AR and the filament around in 304 if possible.
