ANNOUNCEMENTS

* Visitors (Einstein Fellows) in EOF 12:45-1:15 pm today.
* Solar science seminar today at 3:30 p.m., in SOHO EAF
(Bldg. 26, room G-10), Valery Nakariakov (U. Warwick) will
talk about "Slow Magnetoacoustic Waves in the Solar Corona."
* SDO Fun Run on Thursday 24 October
* SPWG on Friday at 2pm in the EAF, please submit calendar changes
to the SOCs as soon as possible.
* No student ECS operator will be in the office on Saturday. If
anyone needs a SOC, call/page Joan or Emily.
* Sunday 27 October: US & European Daylight Savings ends, GSFC

Today, we were pleased to welcome Serguei Kuzin of the Lebedev
Institute. S.Kuzin is the head of the Solar Physics Branch at
Lebedev and will participate in the CORONAS/SUMER observations.
During JOP 157, CDS and THEMIS caught the 15 UT flare in AR 162
Instruments Planning for 10/23 and 10/24
*CDS will point only at the north pole tomorow for JOP158
(no on-disk CH)
*SUMER/CORONAS joint observations may run tomorrow
*SUMER won't support JOP 131 today and tomorrow
*The target for JOP 157 is AR 162.
*The target for JOP 131 is the filament east of AR 158
