in Building 26, Room G-10 by Wolfgang Kalkofen on "Is the
Quiet Solar Chromosphere Heated by Giant Killer Waves?"
* Possible EOF visitors on Thursday 31 October and/or
Tuesday 5 November.
* Volunteers are needed to help high school students with
science fair projects.

INSTRUMENT STATUS

CDS: Nominal. JOP112, usual weekly activities.
GOLF: Nominal. Switched from the red wing to the blue wing
of the Sodium line on Saturday. Doing fine tuning
commanding this week.
SUMER: Returning to nominal today and will resume science
observations tonight.
UVCS: Nominal. JOP112 in the north and mini-synoptic for
today and tomorrow.
LASCO: Nominal. C2/C3 synoptics, JOP112.
EIT: Nominal. Half resolution 195 CME watch and synoptics.
MDI: Nominal. Full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams.
(switched from hi res Saturday night)
TRACE: Nominal. Observing AR10162. Tomorrow: observing an
active region, possibly AR10162.

*SUMER reports a temperature limit violation saturaday at 11:30 UT.
The door was closed and the instrument was put in standby.
The door was reopened on the next commanding pass. 1 motor was found to
be in a wrong position. Tests will be run today at ~ 14 UT. If everything
goes well, observations should resume tonight at 20 UT.
*EIT reports several nice prominence eruptions. A series friday afternoon, and
another sunday afternoon.

SUMER : Will resume observatiosn tonight at 20 UT if the tests go fine.
The HeI 584 scattering study is suppressed for today.
CDS : JOP112, Synoptic meridian images
EIT : CME watch 195
UVCS : JOP 112 and mini synoptic. The target for JOP 112 is the east
edge of the north polar coronal hole. SUMER will pick the other
edge (cannot move east)
SPIRIT (CORONAS) : high cadence at 175 and 304 tomorrow
