ANNOUNCEMENTS Revised Operations Page on the SOHO WWW -- see Web pages for changes. "Monthly" Calendar is now correctly named "Calendar of Coordinated Observations". Calendar is now also viewable for past collaborations (e.g. to check campaign #'s), while a link to the searchable campaign catalog has been added as well. Reminder of teams to use campaign numbers in their IAPs. Campaign numbers can be found in these minutes and by looking at the "Monthly" Calendar of Coordinated Observations" -- from SoHO Web Page, click on Operations then see the Calendar of Coordinated Observations. 2. MONTHLY SCHEDULE UPDATE See Web Pages, from SoHO Web page, click on Operations then see the Calendar of Coordinated Observations ("Monthly" Calendar). 3. OPERATIONS CONSTRAINTS DSN Schedule has lots of continuous time next week: MDI continuous starts: Monday 9/16 at 14:50 UT MDI continuous ends : Sunday 9/22 at 01:35 UT No use of downlink only stations during MDI continuous. Coordinator: Paal Brekke Planners for Week 38: CDS - Andrzej Fludra (until 9/20)/Paal Brekke SUMER - Helen Mason UVCS - Giovanni Peres/Angela Ciaravella EIT - Werner Neupert MDI - Craig DeForest On Tuesday of next week, EIT will be operating/contributing to science observations again. Also decided that Intercal 001 will not be run on Tuesday. * VLA-Nobeyama-SXT-EIT -- Gopalswany will provide the target for this Filament Campaign * Polar Plumes study -- sampling base of solar wind w/CDS and SUMER UVCS will start at 1.5 solar radii and continue outward. * Tenerife campaigns -- SUMER's impression is the campaign with Karin Muglach is to study small active regions, velocities and flows. SUMER team reiterates that with the ground based campaigns, it is vital to have someone at the EOF to coordinate observations. Instrument teams and SOCs did not have enough information concerning Tenerife studies. * JOP029 -- search for flows in footpoints which may fill/unfill the filaments with mass. SUMER using 120 x 120 '' field of view. In the middle of next week more solar activity expected to rotate around to face SoHO. Pointing will be coordinated the previous day for next day's target. LaPalma and some Sac Peak participation will be available. * JOP017 -- will be a filament/AR study depending on solar conditions. LaPalma and Tenerife will participate. 5. WEEKLY SCIENCE TIMELINE An OCD should be submitted by the MDI team for next week's continuous coverage -- specify VC2 times. The also may want to use delayed command files next week instead of the FOT running LOI procedures. No use of TM Submodes, flag, or large command uploads planned for next week. 6. AOB More people are needed for the SoHO Softball Match next Sunday (Sept 22). Sign up at sheets in EOF or EAF, or contact Jean Deselle or Piet Martens.
