WEEKLY MEETING MINUTES 1. Announcements ---------------- None. 2. Operations Constraints ------------------------- SVM Reserved to do memory dumps and tape recorder maintenence is on * Wednesday * not Tuesday ! (See notes, due to UVCS observation of Saturn..) DSN schedule is fairly regular with most passes starting at either 13:00 to 15:00 UT and ending ~ 03:10 UT. Wednesday 15:00 - 15:30 gap due to Madrid global downtime. Thursday - Saturday most passes start 13:00 UT. 3. Coordinated Observations ---------------------------- The following coordinated operations will be performed next week: M Mar 31 (W14) Switch to Submode 6 at 18:00 UT UVCS CME Search with LASCO, (#1390), 15:00 - 20:00 UT, daily EOF: Carlo Benna (EOF) and Rainer Schwenn (from Germany) T Apr 1 MDI deadline to submit new procedures for continuous contact UVCS CME Search with LASCO, (#1390), 15:00 - 20:00 UT, daily EOF: Carlo Benna (EOF) and Rainer Schwenn (from Germany) W Apr 2 SVM Memory Dump, 6 hours, 15:30 - 21:30 UT SVM Reserved, no NRT commanding UVCS CME Search with LASCO, (#1390), 15:00 - 20:00 UT, daily EOF: Carlo Benna (EOF) and Rainer Schwenn (from Germany) T Apr 3 UVCS CME Search with LASCO, (#1390), 15:00 - 20:00 UT, daily EOF: Carlo Benna (EOF) and Rainer Schwenn (from Germany) F Apr 4 UVCS CME Search with LASCO, (#1390), 15:00 - 20:00 UT, daily EOF: Carlo Benna (EOF) and Rainer Schwenn (from Germany) MDI OCD deadline for continuous contact S Apr 5 UVCS CME Search with LASCO, (#1390), 15:00 - 20:00 UT, daily EOF: Carlo Benna (EOF) and Rainer Schwenn (from Germany) S Apr 6 UVCS CME Search with LASCO, (#1390), 15:00 - 20:00 UT, daily EOF: Carlo Benna (EOF) and Rainer Schwenn (from Germany) Other Activities for Week 14: * Target of Opportunity from April 3 - May 1, JOP059, (#1385) Structure and Variability of Loops, CDS/EIT/MDI/Yohkoh-SXT, EOF: Robert Walsh and Jack Ireland Planners for Week 14 SOL - Craig DeForest CDS - Roger Thomas SUMER - No Planner (Door closed) UVCS - Carlo Benna EIT - Barbara Thompson MDI - Craig DeForest LASCO - No Planner (Synoptic only) Additional Notes: ----------------- JOP059 -- The coordinators are not here so CDS penciled in times for late next week. SUMER cannot partcipate. More will be arranged when the JOP coordinators arrive. CDS -- Early in the week: offlimb observations on north/south pole, polar plumes, targeting bright points. On Wednesday, performing a a full sun raster. Penciled in JOP059 for Friday. EIT -- EIT will be taking advantage of Submode #6. EIT will also be very limited on what support they can give to JOPs next week. LASCO CME search with UVCS, LASCO will be running similar program that was run over Christmas 1996. UVCS will catch try and observe any CMEs at ~ 3 solar radii. UVCS -- will be observing Saturn on Tuesday. UVCS asked the FOT to move their scheduled memory dumps and tape recorder maintenence to Wednesday since UVCS will require NRT for the Saturn observation on Tuesday. They still need to sort out exact observation times; however, Saturn will only be in their field-of-view for one day. SOC noted that a request had been made to Flight Dynamics Facility (FDF) to provide a few months notice of when events in which a planet would be one degree away from the Sun. However, FDF is still getting the necessary software in place and estimate this capability will be ready in a few weeks. SOC had previously verbally notified the LASCO team about this, since the initial request had come from the EIT/LASCO group. When FDF has their software in place and can provide teams with this notification, SOC will inform at a daily meeting. MDI -- plans to help support bright points, polar plumes, loop study by providing full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams all week. Will probably not need any additional VC2 next week.
