WEEKLY MEETING MINUTES for August 18-24 1. Announcements ------------------ None. 2. Operations Constraints --------------------------- - DSN schedule: -Monday there is an especially long contact: 12:30 - 06:50 the following day. Most days contacts start either at ~12:30 UT or ~ 15:30 UT. - SVM activities planned for next week: Nothing unusual. They may try later in the week on DSS-27 passes to just change the command modulation index and lock up on receiver #2 rather than performing multiple sweeps on receiver #1. - Submode Switches: None planned for the weekend of Aug 23/24. SUMER will be doing observations. 3. Coordinated operations for next week ---------------------------------------- The following coordinated operations are planned for next week: M Aug 18 (W34) Polar Limb Features, EIT/Sac Peak-VTT/Yohkoh-SXT/CDS (#1820), 14-17 UT, Sac Peak: Serge Koutchmy, EOF: Joe Gurman Switch to Submode 5 at 17:00 UT JOP018: Sunspot Velocity Field and Line Profiles (#1895), CDS/MDI/SacPeak EOF: Oivino Wikstol T Aug 19 Polar Limb Features, EIT/Sac Peak-VTT/Yohkoh-SXT/CDS/SUMER (#1820), 14-17 UT, Sac Peak: Serge Koutchmy, EOF: Joe Gurman W Aug 20 Polar Limb Features, EIT/Sac Peak-VTT/Yohkoh-SXT/CDS/SUMER (#1820), 14-17 UT, Sac Peak: Serge Koutchmy, EOF: Joe Gurman T Aug 21 F Aug 22 SPWG S Aug 23 Non-thermal broadening along a loop CDS/Norikura (#1880) 21- 24 UT. They may coordinate their active region observations with MDI. SUMER -- Most of next week performing election density studies in quiet sun, coronal hole, and coronal hole boundary areas. They will support the Polar Limb Features study on Tuesday and Wednesday. Alpha Leo observations on Friday. UVCS -- Plans may shift depending on whether or not the Comet Tabor is seen. However, other plans include: Alpha Leo observations on Wednesday, Helium II abundance studies on Thursday, a "supersynoptic" plan on Friday that extends to a larger solar radius, and finally a "Waves" study over the weekend. MDI -- JOP018 on Monday. They have some open slots next week and willing to discuss joint studies with other teams, in particular CDS. EIT -- Microjets/CME Watch in 195 Angstroms filling up most of the week in addition to the polar plume studies. LASCO -- Synoptic observations for most of the week with the exception of extra sequences for Alpha Leo in C1 on Monday and Tuesday.
