Subject: Weekly Meeting Minutes This message did not get transmitted correctly the first time. Apologies if you receive this more than once. WEEKLY MEETING MINUTES for September 15-21 1. Announcements ------------------ None. 2. Operations Constraints --------------------------- - DSN schedule: Fairly regular, with most contacts ending at 02:00 UT in the evening. To allow MDI to support the Active Region Flows campaign from 07:30 -11:30 UT, MDI will submit an OCD to delay dumping the SSR on the DSS-66 passes on Monday and Tuesday until the later DSS-27 pass. No other team in the room objected to this plan. - Submode Switches: None planned. 3. Coordinated operations for next week ---------------------------------------- The following coordinated operations are planned for next week: M Sep 15 (W38) MDI Continuous Ends at 04:15 UT Active Region Flows (#1960), CDS/SUMER/EIT/MDI/Tenerife-GCT, 7:30 - 11.30 UT, EOF: Karin Muglach Minor Ions in Coronal Holes Study (#1970) UVCS/LASCO/SUMER, EOF Coordinator: Silvano Fineschi T Sep 16 Active Region Flows (#1960), CDS/SUMER/EIT/MDI/Tenerife-GCT, 7:30 - 11.30 UT, EOF: Karin Muglach Minor Ions in Coronal Holes Study (#1970) CDS/UVCS/LASCO/SUMER, EOF Coordinator: Silvano Fineschi W Sep 17 Active Region Flows (#1960), CDS/SUMER/EIT/MDI/Tenerife-GCT, 7:30 - 11.30 UT, EOF: Karin Muglach Minor Ions in Coronal Holes Study (#1970) CDS/UVCS/LASCO/SUMER, EOF Coordinator: Silvano Fineschi T Sep 18 Active Region Flows (#1960), CDS/SUMER/EIT/MDI/Tenerife-GCT, 7:30 - 11.30 UT, OF: Karin Muglach JOP050 (#1980), The Smallest Observable Category of Eruptive Filaments, CDS/EIT/MDI/Yohkoh-SXT/Kitt Peak (Filtergraph, VTT)/Sac Peak (UBF, ASP)/Helio Research, 15:00 - 23:00 UT (tentative), EOF: Alan McAllister Minor Ions in Coronal Holes Study (#1970) CDS/UVCS/LASCO/SUMER, EOF Coordinator: Silvano Fineschi F Sep 19 SPWG Active Region Flows (#1960), CDS/SUMER/EIT/MDI/Tenerife-GCT, 7:30 - 11.30 UT, EOF: Karin Muglach JOP050 (#1980), The Smallest Observable Category of Eruptive Filaments, CDS/EIT/MDI/Yohkoh-SXT/Kitt Peak (Filtergraph, VTT)/Sac Peak (UBF, ASP)/Helio Research, 15:00 - 23:00 UT (tentative), EOF: Alan McAllister Minor Ions in Coronal Holes Study (#1970) CDS/UVCS/LASCO/SUMER, EOF Coordinator: Silvano Fineschi S Sep 20 Active Region Flows (#1960), CDS/SUMER/EIT/MDI/Tenerife-GCT, 7:30 - 11.30 UT, EOF: Karin Muglach JOP050 (#1980), The Smallest Observable Category of Eruptive Filaments, CDS/EIT/MDI/Yohkoh-SXT/Kitt Peak (Filtergraph, VTT)/Sac Peak (UBF, ASP)/Helio Research, 15:00 - 23:00 UT (tentative), EOF: Alan McAllister Minor Ions in Coronal Holes Study (#1970) UVCS/LASCO/SUMER, EOF Coordinator: Silvano Fineschi Coronal Hole Campaign (UCLAN) #1990, CDS/MDI/EISCAT/LASCO/OHP- (H-alpha & Ca-K) EOF: Barbara Bromage, EISCAT: Andy Breen, OHP: Ludovic Ligot (ligot@obs-hp.fr), 20-24 UT + incidental 18 September - 16 October S Sep 21 Active Region Flows (#1960), CDS/SUMER/EIT/MDI/Tenerife-GCT, 7:30 - 11.30 UT, EOF: Karin Muglach JOP050 (#1980), The Smallest Observable Category of Eruptive Filaments, CDS/EIT/MDI/Yohkoh-SXT/Kitt Peak (Filtergraph, VTT)/Sac Peak (UBF, ASP)/Helio Research, 15:00 - 23:00 UT (tentative), EOF: Alan McAllister Minor Ions in Coronal Holes Study (#1970) UVCS/LASCO/SUMER, EOF Coordinator: Silvano Fineschi Coronal Hole Campaign (UCLAN) #1990, CDS/MDI/EISCAT/LASCO/OHP- (H-alpha & Ca-K) EOF: Barbara Bromage, EISCAT: Andy Breen, OHP: Ludovic Ligot (ligot@obs-hp.fr), 20-24 UT + incidental Planners for Week 38: SOL - Karin Muglach CDS - Paal Brekke SUMER - Karin Muglach UVCS - John Kohl EIT - Jeff Newmark MDI - Craig DeForest LASCO - Simon Plunkett Relevant Notes: JOP050 --- SUMER will not support JOP050 unless they hear an especially good reason for doing so. EIT also checked to see what the status was of Sarah's telescope. They were told that it would be ready, however it was not ready at the time they inquired. Minor Ions in Coronal Holes Study -- UVCS will do offset pointing close to the limb (closer than 1.5 solar radii), and will follow the broadening of minor ions with height. CDS will look at line intensities, and SUMER will obtain line profiles. On Wednesday, it will be the most crucial day for UVCS and they will need a lot of NRT to support it. EIT support will consist of their synoptic and CME watch images. Coronal Hole Campaign (UCLAN) -- Due to the large number of joint observations, CDS will start this on Saturday (rather than the scheduled time of Thursday). A.O.B. ------ * EIT will try to compile and submit a formal description of support requested of the EIT calibration rocket and HRTS rocket scheduled to launch on September 30. The EIT calibration rocket will launch at 19:00 UT followed by the HRTS rocket at 19:30 UT. SUMER is concerned that they have not heard much about these launches and would need information to plan. * Also, some discussion concerning the testing the new versions of Submodes 2 and 3 in Week 39. When certain individuals are at the EOF at the beginning of next week, this will be sorted out. Tentatively looking towards the end of the week (Wednesday - Friday) to plan these tests. * For information concerning the TRACE workshop agenda see: http://www.space.lockheed.com/TRACE/TRACEworkshop.html
