WEEKLY MEETING MINUTES Week 11, March 13-19, 2000 1. Announcements ---------------- None. 2. Operations Constraints ------------------------- * Monday: Pass starts at ~ 16:30 UT. After the FOT activities, there will be 1/2 hour of NRT from ~ 17:30 - 18:00 UT for instrument commanding, then from 18-19 UT the link will be paused for a CEPAC software upload. Normal NRT will resume after the CEPAC loads are completed. * Thursday: Downlink only DSS-27 17:00-18:40 UT. * Friday: 15 UT there will be a switch to Submode #5. SUMER will close doors late on Wednesday, however LASCO wanted to keep Submode #5 until Friday since it is easier to fit in C3 subfields in Submode #5. This also works better for CDS. 3. Coordinated Observations --------------------------- M Mar 13 (W11) T Mar 14 Intercal001 (#6292), SUMER/EIT/CDS/TRACE, 20 UT POC: Udo Schuehle, two runs for SUMER W Mar 15 OCD due for MDI 3 month continuous by noon local time Intercal001 (#6294), SUMER/EIT/CDS/TRACE, 20 UT POC: Udo Schuehle, two runs for SUMER SUMER close doors (late) T Mar 16 F Mar 17 Switch to Submode #5 at ~ 15:00 UT SPWG at 2 pm in the EAF S Mar 18 S Mar 19 Other activities for Week 11: * Mar 13-31: JOP121 Strengthening of H Absorption in Filaments Prior to Eruption (#6340), CDS/EIT, Contact: Oddbjorn Engvold * Mar 14-28: MMOP006 H-alpha Linear Polarization in Flares (#6345), CDS/Yohkoh/TRACE/Mees/BigBear/Obs.Paris Contact: Jeff Brosius * Mar 10-16: SUMER engineering work. * Mar 6-19: CDS Search for mini-CME outflows, once each week * UVCS: Global Dynamics Studies of the Extended Corona Submodes: Monday 00:00 UT -- Friday 15:00 UT --> Submode 5 Friday 15:00 UT -- Sunday 24:00 UT --> Submode 6 Planners for Week 11: CDS -- Bill Thompson MDI -- Emily Zamkoff EIT -- Cecile Delannee SUMER -- Udo Schuehle LASCO -- Ops Team UVCS -- Ester Antonucci TRACE -- Ted Tarbell Relevant Notes -------------- CDS -- CDS will look into perhaps running a shorter synoptic sequence to fit in the desired three runs of JOP121. Monday: Full Sun Scan, JOP121, MMOP006. Tuesday and Wednesday: JOP121, Interplume Oscillation Studies, Intercal001, MMOP006 Thursday: JOP121, GIS Monitoring Studies, MMOP006 Friday: JOP121, Polarity Reversal Monitoring Studies, MMOP006 Saturday: Search for mini-CME outflows, monitoring studies Sunday: Off-limb coronal study, monitioring studies SUMER -- Engineering and Intercalibrations. UVCS -- In addition to planned studies, interested in CME watching and the interplume studies CDS is performing. LASCO -- Starting Sunday at ~ noon local the will be taking C3 subfields for George Simmnet at the poles at 10 minute cadence. These subfields will be interleaved between the C2 and C3 synoptics. EIT -- 195 CME watch (2x2 binned) and synoptics continue MDI -- Full disk magnetograms and dopplergrams unless interesting target goes through high resolution field-of-view. Will support JOP 121 with magnetograms. TRACE -- Will be performing calibrations next week and partipating in the Max Millenium Campaign #006 program. Their support for that will consist of 1600 A flare response program.
