JOP 123, Narrow band photometry of EUV emission lines Coordinated campaign with TRACE , SOHO, and the Tuneable X-Ray Imager Rocket Received 14 April 2000 Revised 27 April 2001 DeLuca,E.E., Golub, L., Reeves, K. and Warren, H. AIM: Very narrow band photometry of full disk in the 171-204A region The TXI rocket is scheduled for launch on June 26 2000. The TXI consists of a 6" diameter prime focus telescope fed by a pair of flat, parallel mirrors. The multi-layer coatings are chosen so that a narrow (3A FWHM) passband can be scanned across the 171-211A spectral region. The telescope views the full Sun with 1"/pixel resolution on a 2kx2k CCD. The primary science goals for the TXI are: Temperature and Emission Measure diagnostics from Fe: IX, X, XI, XII, XIII and XXIV emission lines and velocity observations around the Fe XI 180A line. The rocket will also fly three small (3") prime focus mirrors covering the broadband coating 171-211, 193 Fe XII and 211A FeXIV. All of the telescopes will be fully calibrated. __________ Plan Yohkoh: full disk images or partial frame images of brightest region TRACE: Center a (768x768) FOV on a bright AR and take 171, 195 and some UV images before and after the launch window, take rapid 195 observations for about 2 hours covering the launch window. Limb regions may be preferred because of eclipse coodination; if there is an exciting AR on the disk we may want to move TRACE there. Rocket will adjust launch time to avoid TRACE SAA. MDI: Would like a full disk magnetograms during or near the flight. CDS: A 4x4 arcminute raster with good spectral information, expected cadence ~15 minutes. TRACE and CDS will coordinate on the region. EIT: full disk images in 304, 171 and 195 during rocket flight.
