SUBJECT: UPDATE ON THE KEYWORDS USED IN THE IAP AND KAP FILES. FROM: Eliane Larduinat TO: SOHO Experiment Teams DATE: 2 AUGUST 1996 We talked to representatives of the instrument teams currently using the ECS planning system and the IAP/KAP files. Here are the results. ________________________________________________________ Keywords that will be provided by the Instrument teams in the IAP Files: SCIPLAN PROGRAM ACTIVITY_xyz (not now, but possibly later) INST_IIE_MASTER (not now, but possibly later) INST_IIE_RECEIVER (not now, but possibly later) Other keywords that had been suggested in the Instrumenters' ICD will not be provided by the teams in their IAPs: INST_NRT_SESSION INST_NRT_RESERVED INST_TSTOL_EXECUTION INST_DELAYED_CMD Note: INST_DELAYED_CMD is generated automatically by the ECS system and gives the desired uplink window for each delayed command file ECS receives. The planned or actual uplink time would have to be provided by the FOT and is not currently available. ________________________________________________________ Keywords that will be provided by the ECS in the KAP Files. In addition to the merged information from the IAPs, ECS will use the following keywords in the KAP files: DSN_Contact_xyz xyz being the station ID (e.g. D27) ACTIVITY_SVM_Reserve Instead of SVM_Reserved (Note 1) ACTIVITY_TLM_MDI_VC2 Instead of TLM_MDI_M (Note 2) ACTIVITY_Throughput_ Instead of Throughput_NRT (Note 3) ACTIVITY_TLM_Submode Instead of TLM_Submode ACTIVITY_JOPxyz Approximate time for planned JOPs ACTIVITY_CMPxyz Approximate time for planned campains ACTIVITY_ICALxyz Approximate time for planned inter-calibrations ACTIVITY_SOC_xyz Approximate time for other planned activities ________________________________________________________ The following keywords will NOT be provided in the KAP files. This information originates from the FOT but the current FOT planning software cannot provide it electronically to the ECS. Moreover, most of the instrument teams do not have the sofware that would enable them to use these keywords even if they were provided. Payload_Reserved Not provided by FOT. Not used by teams Spacecraft_Maneuver Not provided by FOT. See ACTIVITY_SOC_xyz Clock_Adjust Not provided by FOT. See ACTIVITY_SOC_xyz TLM_Tape_Dump Not provided by FOT. Not used by teams TLM_MDI_H Not provided by FOT. Could be used by MDI TLM_HR_Idle Not provided by FOT. Could be used by MDI TLM_Mode Not provided by FOT. Not used by teams Other_Obs_xyz Not provided by FOT. Not used by teams NOTES: 1) The times reserved for SVM activities were supposed to be obtained electronically from the CMS and supplied in the KAP as SVM_Reserved. At this time, the CMS cannot provide that information. Instead, the ECS planning tool is used to estimate these times for planning purpose. The following automatic rules are used and the resulting keyword is ACTIVITY_SVM_Reserve - the first hour of each DSN contact. - the last 1/2 hour of each DSN contact. - 1/2 hour daily from 14:30 to 15:00 or during DSN contact - an additional 1/2 hour on Thursday from 14:00 to 14:30 or during DSN contact. 2) Outside of periods of continuous contact, MDI-M (VC2) is provided for 10 minutes during the short contacts and one hour during the long contacts. It usually occurs immediately after the SSR dump. The exact time would need to be provided by the FOT. This information is not available and the planning tool estimates these times at one hour after the beginning of a DSN pass. 3) The Throughput mode is also calculated by the ECS software as being the time during DSN contact when there is no SVM_Reserved activities.
