ecs Software Info File - Notes are in no particular order ====================== stoptlm - use if files won't close after 30 minutes nrunIF - start interface adding a command user - same for telemetry but add default or not and socket can quit the commanding display window and still have the teams be connected Revsock is 2 programs that reverse the direction of the socket connection between the ECS and the CMS. This was necessary to satisfy security requirements for connections between the open and restricted IONETs. The revsock server on the ECS machine is connected to by a revsock client running on the CMS machine on port 12913. The ECS connects to the revsock server locally on the ECS machine on port 12911/10911. The revsock client on the CMS machine then connects to the CMS locally on port 12911/10911. This setup reverses the previous socket connection from open IONET to RIONET, to be RIONET to OIONET, thereby making security happy. The heartbeat in revsock also removes the need for KAS on this connection. Previous- ECS -- 12911 (OIONET to RIONET)--> CMS Now- ECS --> 12911 (local)--> revsockS <--(RIONET to OIONET) 12913 revsockC 12911 (local)--> CMS Link to Dullnig's notes: http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/soc/soc/info_files/dullnig_notes.txt Setup now is for loads to go through ecsman on /home/cmd/bckque and /delcmd Setup now is for socop1 to be the computer that we use to pull up soctlm1/ecs1 When the FOT need to change strings, we change the CMS. Go here for instructions: http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/soc/soc/info_files/change_strings.txt To start the software, pull up window and type startall (see info file on Stop/Start) and then bring up the command and telemetry windows - status and session ones Cronjob for background queue delog: a cronjob will execute a script to delog background queue messages from the ECS and put them in a separate file. The file will be transferred via scp to the web. Data retrieval is now on the web at: ftp://umbra.nascom.nasa.gov/soho/tlm/qkl/ A cronjob from moat uses rsync to copy the quicklook telemetry from soctlm1 or ecs1 to the archive and served to the web by umbra. FOT sends nightly NRT to zeus.nascom.nasa.gov/~fotsnaps/actpln and it gets copied to the operations web page by a program run by George. Latest version is copied to the web as well as the older version. Remote commanding connections program has its own webpage: http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/soc/soc/info_files/remote_commanding.txt Here is an example of soc s/w status when it is working correctly: http://sohowww.nascom.nasa.gov/soc/soc/info_files/status_pages.txt /Users/socfiles/info/ecs_software.txt 06 July 2010 EBZ
