There are 2 types of latch-ups: instrument and DAS If instrument, the VSDAS will show a problem and the latchup will not fix itself until the procedure is run to enable the flag (script V-02) If DAS, it could be a false reading or it could be a power problem - checking the current is the only way to tell. If the current is unchanged then everything is fine - notify VIRGO team by e-mail If the current is lower than before, VIRGO will need to be called immediately and will have to repower itself Contingency Script V-02 will be used if VSDAS shows a problem. VSDAS does show instrument latchups, but it can also show DAS latchups sometimes. If VSDAS shows a problem, wait 3 minutes and check if the data is green again. If not, then it is an instrument latchup and run the script V-02. If it is, check the current and see if it has changed. If no change in current, do nothing except notify VIRGO by e-mail. If there is a change in current, call VIRGO immediately. Two OCD's were made: have the FOT wait for 3 minutes for the telemetry to update before doing anything; if a latchup occurs and lasts for more than 3 minutes, check the current and see if it has changed by 3 or more bits. A delta limit was created that should do this check automatically.
