CHECK/CHANGE METERING RATE

Checking and Changing the Metering Rate

NOTE: We set the metering rate to 7 for D27 passes and leave it at 3 for all other passes. If you leave before the end of the D27 pass, leave the metering rate at 7.

Checking the metering rate:

  • Check the current metering rate (do as SOC) and write in log.
  • To Check the metering rate:

  • Check the DSN schedule and see if we need to be at 3 or 7
  • Changing the metering rate

  • Make sure NRT is disabled (NRT can be enabled to change metering rate in an emergency)
  • Type stopcmd in a SOC window
  • Log that you did stopcmd and the time in the logbook
  • Type sock in a SOC window to verify that command sockets are down
  • On TLM quit the NRT Commanding Session Status window manually, the Command Status Display window will come down automatically
  • Type xedit /home/ecs/ecs/ecs_config/Config.cmd in the SOC window

  • Go to the line in the file that says "Format number of seconds"
  • Change the entry to 3 or 7 accordingly
  • Type startcmd in a SOC window
  • Log that you did startcmd and the time in the logbook
  • Type sock in a SOC window to verify that all is normal
  • Flip the notecard on the TLM computer saying which metering rate is set
  • On TLM bring up NRT Commanding Session Status window manually, the Command Status Display window will come up automatically
  • NOTE: The FOT has their own bias that they can set for D27 - their POCC commanding bias
